Project: NHS Trust Internal Refurbishment Works

A local NHS Trust contacted us with a tender to refurbish one of their units. 

ICS were successful with our bid and we commenced onsite June 2021.

We needed to be mindful that the hospital unit was still in use during the refurbishment works and careful consideration was given to the health and safety of staff and patients with clearly marked off areas of work ensuring they are always kept clean and tidy and clear of dust. We also temporarily closed off corridors and erected protected walkways.

The refurbishment involved removal of any fittings to walls, e.g. mirrors / noticeboards / pictures / etc, bedroom furniture taken out, stripping out of en-suites, some existing walls were removed, existing doors taken out, flooring taken up, ceilings stripped, old cubicles removed, sanitaryware and radiators removed and remodelling of some of the rooms including widening of some doorways and new openings for doors and windows as well as blocking up some windows and doors.  Patch repairs were carried out to walls where required.

New cubicles, sanitaryware and Whiterock hygienic wall cladding were installed to the WC and en-suite areas.  A complete kitchen re-fit was carried out including all units and appliances.  Mechanical and electrical services including new lighting and radiators were also completed.  Specific storage units were supplied and installed.

Decoration was completed to all affected areas.

During the work, other items requiring attention were highlighted and carried out by ICS Ltd including firestopping compartmentalisation works, installation of additional call points and emergency lighting and a new access hatch
