Project: Simulator Base, Interior Mezzanine Build and Fit-Out
Industrial Contracting Services have recently completed the construction/fit-out of a new internal training facility extension along with the installation co-ordination of a new flight simulator for a major low-cost airline/tour operator.
The project comprised of the excavation and forming of a reinforced concrete base to receive a new flight simulator followed by the construction of ground floor plant rooms with mezzanine computer suite above and the co-ordinated installation and services to the new flight simulator.
The construction comprised of a steel mezzanine frame, gantry and staircase with blockwork walls, dry lined partitions, fire rated timber and metal doorsets, raised computer access floors, MF and suspended ceilings, decoration, carpet and painted floor finishes.
Electrical installation works carried out comprised of power to the build works and new flight simulator, lighting, UPS system, integrated fire alarm and gas suppression system, data cabling with connection to the existing server.
Mechanical installation works carried out comprised of new chiller pipework upgrade system to the new and existing simulators, ventilation ducting and extraction units, air conditioning units and air handling ducting to the new simulator.
The programme for the work was a 22 week build period in a fully operational 24/7 environment, incorporating all services integrated into existing systems and final finishes including the co-ordinated simulator installation.
